Siemens Siwatherm tumble dryler
Symptom: Triggers ground fault circuit interrupter (löst FI aus)
If the Siwatherm 5301 tumble dryer triggers the ground fault circuit interrupter, it is most likely due to large amounts of lint accumulated in the machine. The user's manual suggests cleaning the condenser, which is accessible from the front, about four times a year. If this maintenance schedule is not respected, lint and fluff accumulates in the back of the machine, and in particular in the ventilator (2), around the drum (3), and in the heating element (1). The accumulated lint in the heating element is particularly dangerous and can cause the ground fault circuit interrupter to trigger. A thorough cleaning of these parts, marked in red in the image below, is indicated.
